a little behind schedule…

But still here. These are this weekend’s shelter dogs. As usual, they were awesome and so beautiful. My son was in town for Spring Break (I know…poor guy. Had to spend it with his Mom) so he went with me Saturday and fell in love with one of these guys. The whole time we were there, he and his “friend” were watching each other. I really think they connected and it kind of made me sad that he is not able to have a dog right now. Almost all of the dogs there were new, and there had been a lot of adoptions during the week, so we were really grateful to hear that news. this weekend at the shelter.

I was thinking on my way home from the shelter yesterday that it’s just like I guess visiting a jail would be. You have to sign in, can’t take a purse or cell phone. But the difference is that these guys have done nothing wrong. They are all so sweet…and many so scared and confused. And then there are some like the little puppy that was there, that just are so excited to have a few minutes of being the center of attention. Before I started doing this a few weeks ago, to be honest, I’d never visited an animal control shelter. They do a great job there, but there is only so much they can do. I guess it might have been the rain that made me think like that, I don’t know. But these guys were just as adorable and sweet as they could be. been meaning to post this one…

This is the sweetest little baby girl. And she happens to belong to a couple of my favorite friends, so I can’t help but love her! A couple of weeks ago, I got to go to Gulf Shores and hang out with them (and a bunch more friends). It was a great weekend, although really cold for the beach. However, Baby C was a good sport for us. She was such a sweetie!

There were more beautiful dogs there. It seems like they are so bewildered sometimes about what is going on. And they seem so grateful for a few moments in the sun, with someone to talk to them and pet them. Please visit Newnan-Coweta Humane Society’s website for information on any of these dogs.
